Prof. Peter H. Egger is Professor of Applied Economics at KOF Swiss Economic Institute at ETH Zurich since 2009. In the same year he became Head of the “Chair of Applied Economics: Innovation and Internationalization” and Head of the Division Structural Change and Innovation at KOF. The KOF Swiss Economic institute belongs to the Department of Management, Technology and Economics at the ETH Zurich.

Peter Egger obtained a Master in economics at the University of Linz, Austria in 1996, where he went on to complete a PhD in economics in 2001. In 2001 he habilitated at the University of Innsbruck, Austria where he was Assistant Professor from 2001-2002 and Associate Professor from 2002-2004. In 2004 he became Professor of Economics at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, Germany.

Prof. Egger’s research focus is on applied and theoretical panel econometrics (time-invariant variables, long- and short-run estimates, spatial econometrics), applied and theoretical international and regional economics (outsourcing, multinational firms, trade volumes; economic integration, new economic geography), industrial organization and multinational firms.
